niffer asked:

I am buying gifts for my sister and sister-in-law. (Husbands sister- not married to each other!)They are both newlyweds. Any ideas? I was thinking of a nice clock to hang on the wall or a sweater. The clock would be for both husband and wife….

Does anyone know where I could locate a vintage (or replica) thermometer that went on a vintage wall clock?

I have an 1880s walnut Seth Thomas wall clock that had a thermometer as part of the crown decoration. The old bubble leveler is still on the clock, but the thermometer is long gone. The plalcement of the thermometer would be part of the complete restoration of the old clock.

Donald Rumsfeld died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St.Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked, “What are all those clocks?”

St. Peter answered, “Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move.”

“Oh,” said Rumsfeld, “whose clock is that?” “That’s Mother Teresa’s. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie.” “Incredible,” said Rumsfeld. “And whose clock is that one?” St. Peter responded, “That’s Abraham Lincoln’s clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life.”

“Where’s Bush’s clock?” asked Rumsfeld.

“Bush’s clock is in Jesus’ office. He’s using it as a ceiling fan.”

anonymous asked:

so, im at college now and i missed a class because my building’s power went out during my sleep and my alarm clock reset, so i was wondering if there is something that plugs into the wall and saves energy for atleast 10 minutes that would allow my stuff to still run on power

I have a freaky story to tell y’all… feel free to share some of your own :)
So here it goes… when my mother was giving birth to me there was an analog clock on the wall of the ward which was broken + stuck on 8 minutes past 6. When my mother gave birth to me the doctor came and told the time of my birth… 6:08pm. My dad asked ‘are you sure you didn’t read it off that broken clock?’ and it turned out he had read it off a working clock. Freaky, huh? I mean, its like the broken analog clock predicted when i was gonna be born… although as it was analog, it could’ve broken on 6:08am, as even a broken clock gets to be right twice a day…

this has been bugging me recently.. im very pessimistic (if you look back at my other posts from years ago) with philosophical thoughts and always jump to the worst conclusions. in this case, i think i must be too lucky or special to be ordinary with this happening, and i know that’s narcisstic, but seriously, this is what philosophical thoughts do to me, what are the chances..?

i’ve had a number of other weird coincidences in life as well, and thinking about them just scares me sometimes.. what can i do to stop being so pessimistic and coming up with questions like ‘why am i so special’ when i don’t wanna be special and i want to be in control of my own life..?

havent we all had hallucinations at one point or another?

skayy2 asked:

Is this normal? I always thought it was…or is it a hallucinations?

–thinking someone said your name
–seeing shadows or movement from the corner of your eye
–buzzing sound (i think ive heard that everyone gets this)
–seeing things at night (also normal i think–i think i see things when they are just my chair or something)
–once i saw a clock on the wall, and when i looked again it wasnt there
–sometimes imagining a commercial is talking to you (delusion or normal?)

are these hallucinations? or just something normal?
